MONIKA FORYŚ – harpsichord
and with her Tomas Celis Sanchez and the Surreal Players.
Time: Oct. 24-th, 6 pm.
Place: Kraków, Kanonicza 17
Harpsichordist Monika Foryś, a graduate of the Krakow Academy of Music in the harpsichord class of Prof. E. Stefańska, who for years has added contemporary music to her repertoire and performs world premieres of works written for her, invited this time to make music together Tomas Sanchez – a percussionist with Cuban-Mexican roots, cellist Magdalena Pluta and Krystian Jaworz, who will play on the Rhodes piano. Together with the artists we’ll be transported to the world of jazz sounds, here the Trans-Toccata by Krakow composer Piotr Orzechowski “Pianohooligan”, and we’ll also hear Krystian Jaworz’s Jazzdisch with elements of Jewish music. There will also be Latin American sounds in the Martinique composed by James Dorsa, a professor at California State University, Northridge, who will honour us with his presence at the premiere of his composition in Poland.
By contrast, the first part of the concert will comprise German, French and Spanish baroque and polonaises by Michał Kleofas Ogiński.
